SISODRV001 - Drive AWD/4WD vehicles on unsealed roads
This unit is from the Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package (SIS) and covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to drive a Four Wheel Drive (4WD) or All Wheel Drive (AWD) on unsealed roads. It covers driving on graded, formed dirt roads and small water crossings.

TLIC3036 - Apply safe car driving behaviours
This Unit is designed for organisations and individuals who drive either 4WD or AWD vehicles in regional areas across a diverse set of conditions. Often, no matter what the work environment, simply driving a vehicle may be the riskiest activity you may encounter. During this course participants learn to

recognise risks and dangers,

develop strategies for minimising these risks
-
learn safer seating and steering positions
-
learn safer car control techniques
-
identify and operate various technologies such as traction control
On completion of this unit participants should be more confident when driving in regional/outback conditions including dirt roads, minimise driving risks and have a great understanding of vehicle performance and handling.
FWPCOT3325 - Operate four wheel drive vehicle on unsealed roads
This Unit is from the Forest and Wood Products Training Package and covers the outcomes to safely operate a 4WD on unsealed roads. This Unit applies to people who operate 4WD vehicles in a variety of work settings and industry sectors including forestry, agriculture, construction, tourism and energy.

FWPCOT3329 - Perform complex four wheel drive operations
This unit is from the Forest and Wood Products Training Package and covers the outcomes to safely operate a 4WD vehicle in difficult terrain, taking into account workplace procedures and health and safety regulations.
During the course we cover:
- Prepare for complex 4WD operations
- operating vehicles in steep terrain
- operating vehicles in difficult terrain
- water crossings
- post trip checks
INTERMEDIATE COURSES - Duration 2 days. Cost is $795.00 pp (plus GST)
Depending on your individual or corporate requirements we suggest either of the following two course options. Both options include SISODRV001 combined with either RIIVEH305F or TLIC2023 (as described below).
OPTION 1:

RIIVEH305F – Operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle
This unit is from the Resources and Infrastructure Industries Training Package and covers the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a 4WD vehicle. This unit is appropriate for those working in supervisory and technical specialist roles.
The unit is appropriate for those working in an operational role at worksites within:

TLIC0023 – Operate four wheel drive vehicle
This unit is from the Transport & Logistics Training Package and covers the skills and knowledge required to drive a four wheel drive vehicle safely in a range of conditions in accordance with the relevant State/Territory legislated roads and traffic licence requirements. It includes driving a 4WD vehicle on roads, gradients and rugged terrain. It also includes using vehicle equipment/controls and completing pre and post operational checks. A recognised drivers licence must be held prior to commencing training.

This unit is from the Forest and Wood Products Training Package and describes the outcomes required to use recovery equipment and advanced skills to recover four wheel drive vehicles in difficult terrain conditions.
This unit covers the following elements:

Apply safe recovery method

Use vehicle recovery equipment safely

Maintain vehicle recovery equipment
It is recommended that participants in this course have already completed a basic 4WD course.
